We support families with a history of autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, OCD, ODD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, intermittent explosive disorder, emotional and behavioral disorders, fetal alcohol syndrome, Down syndrome, Edward’s syndrome, Tourette syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and other diagnoses. In addition to working with clients in the home and school settings, we provide community outreach in the form of education and training to local churches and first responders on how to improve their interactions and involvement with individuals with different abilities.

Specializations:

Reduction of behavior that limits social access and personal independence, such as, tantrum behavior, physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, elopement, PICA, self-injurious behavior, public sexual behaviors, rigid and repetitive behaviors, sleep difficulties, food selectivity, rumination, encopresis (fecal impaction and incontinence), scatolia (fecal smearing), trichotillomania (hair pulling) and dermatillomania (skin picking).

Acquisition of behavior that increases social access and personal independence, such as, functional communication skills (e.g., vocal speech, sign language, the picture exchange communication system, and speech generating devices), self care skills (e.g., bathing/showering, toileting, dressing, handwashing, toothbrushing, and feminine hygiene), self regulation, self management, self advocacy, social skills, motor skills, and school and career readiness.

Paula Sophia Sesin

Clinical Director

Elevate ABA is directed by Paula Sophia Sesin, a BCBA with over 20 years of practical experience supporting individuals with unique abilities across the lifespan of 2-88 years old. She is also the proud family member of 3 individuals on the autism spectrum, and has 2 additional family members with divergent needs.

Mrs. Sesin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology, a minor in Education, and a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. She then completed a Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorders at Russell Sage College, where she likewise graduated Magna Cum Laude. She is passionate about strengthening the self-advocacy of her clients and colleagues, and has an interest in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience, as well as, the prevention and treatment of traumatic and adverse experiences.

She has extensive expertise providing assessment and program development in a multitude of environments, including family home settings, clinical settings, group home settings, foster care settings, alternative learning environments for severe problem behavior, state treatment facilities, independent and supported living environments, public/private/faith-based schools settings, adult day training programs, and other community settings. In addition, she has provided Professional Crisis Management training to outside ABA providers and organizations for over 10 years.
